Brie Austin is a columnist and reporter covering business, travel and entertainment. Born and raised in New York City, he has published more than sixty nonfiction articles for magazines on music, nightlife, lifestyle, travel and business, and co-wrote the memoir I’d Do It Again!

A working writer
Brie started out covering the city after dark as a New York nightlife columnist from 2001 to 2004. Since then he has written as a contributor and staff writer for magazines, filed one-off pieces for newspapers, and written website copy for a long list of brands. Today he is a staff writer at JetsInsider.com and continues to write articles for the clients of Incognito Worldwide.
A New Yorker on the road
Brie has lived in Argentina, Mexico, India and France, traveled most of the United States, and made homes in New York City, New Jersey, Hollywood, Santa Monica and Venice Beach, California. A 2003 vacation to Buenos Aires turned into six and a half years in Argentina; in 2011 he spent six months in San Pedro Garza García, Mexico, and from 2012 Bangalore, India, was his base. Home is wherever the backpack and laptop land. He travels to see a place the way locals do and stays neutral about what he finds.
Business is a beat he has lived
Brie has been an entrepreneur since the early 1980s, building and running his own companies long before he wrote about anyone else’s. He has written business plans for companies and a Regulation A offering statement that cleared the SEC in 2010. That background is why the Business column, and its investigations, read the paperwork.
Music, film and the stage
Brie has worked as a concert promoter and record producer, founded a nationally distributed record label, and served as executive producer of a nationally distributed independent feature film and of a documentary that aired on Bravo from 2003 to 2006.
