Hmm, I thought I Was Already Independent

“New ideas and an independent or pioneering mental orientation is the mode or expression.  Teaching, learning, communication and social contacts have a way of outlining new directions in your life now.  Challenging authority and striving for success are on your agenda.”  I noticed this horoscope today in the Bangalore Times I spotted the horoscope — yeah, it’s just above the comic strips. Here is why I mention it.

Hmm, is this supposed to be something new for me to be “independent” or “challenging authority?”

While I’ve always thought there was something to astrology in the sense of certain signs embodying certain character traits, I was never much of a daily horoscope guy; I’m still not.

However, the story-line of today’s horoscope has a spooky  symmetry that has has been consistant during the past few years from several sources.

In 2010 I attended a one-on-one business meeting in New York City.  After the meeting, he told me that “My hobby … well, more of my passion, is astrology.  Would you mind if I did a quick reading on you?”

He not only was spot on about my aspirations, my life, and my relationship with my parents, but also nailed my financial situation spot on — and provided some optimism as well: “2010 was a bad year for you.  2011 will be much better, but according to this charting, 2012 will be the year you’ve waited your whole life for.”

“I don’t know what that means, but it sounds good to me” I said.

Fast forward. 2011 was in deed better than 2010, and 2012 certainly is progressing even better and opening up new possibilities daily.

My friend Jacqueline — who follows astrology closely, who is also a Pisces, told me that “Pisces is coming out of a bad alignment during the past decade: everything was aligned against our forward progress. Beginning in 2012 however, we’re now entering a new shift where everything will be aligned for our benefit.”
